Reading 1,\u00a0Proverbs 3:27-34<\/em> 27 Refuse no kindness to those who have a right to it, if it is in your power to perform it.<\/p> 28 Do not say to your neighbour, 'Go away! Come another time! I will give it you tomorrow,' if you can do it now.<\/p> 29 Do not plot harm against your neighbour who is living unsuspecting beside you.<\/p> 30 Do not pick a groundless quarrel with anyone who has done you no harm.<\/p> 31 Do not envy the man of violence, never model your conduct on his;<\/p> 32 for the wilful wrong-doer is abhorrent to Yahweh, who confides only in the honest.<\/p> 33 Yahweh's curse lies on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the upright.<\/p> 34 He mocks those who mock, but accords his favour to the humble.<\/p> 2 Whoever lives blamelessly, who acts uprightly, who speaks the truth from the heart,<\/p> 3 who keeps the tongue under control, who does not wrong a comrade, who casts no discredit on a neighbour,<\/p> 4 who looks with scorn on the vile, but honours those who fear Yahweh, who stands by an oath at any cost,<\/p> 5 who asks no interest on loans, who takes no bribe to harm the innocent. No one who so acts can ever be shaken.<\/p> 16 'No one lights a lamp to cover it with a bowl or to put it under a bed.
