Students of St. Justin learn to understand politics and Asean
St. Justin’s school of faith conducted a social seminar to understand Cambodia’s political situation and its integration into Asean’s (Association of South East Nations) initiative next year.
The ASEAN Heads of State at their Summit in 2000 launched the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) with the objectives of Narrowing the Development Gap (NDG) and accelerating economic integration of the newer members of ASEAN, namely Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Viet Nam (CLMV).
Fr. Ann to pursue further studies
Fr. Trirong Multri nicknamed Fr.Ann, the assistant parish priest of Takeo province’s pastoral district will be sent by his Thai Missionary superior to pursue furher studies abroad as soon as possible.
At the farewell function for Fr. Ann on the 28 February, the bishop of Phnom Penh, Rt. Rev. Olivier Schmitthaeusler thanked him for serving the Takeo province and attending to its pastoral needs. The bishop also said that Fr. Ann is a good pastor and has helped the district grow well as can been seen today.
Korean Christians hold a charity market
On February 23, a group of Christians from Korea arranged a market selling Korean products at St. Josepht parish (phsar Touch) the capital city of Phnom Penh. The profits from the sales goes to the poor in Cambodia.

In a frienldy meeting with students of the centers of St. John Baptist and of St. Joseph, bishop Olivier Schmitthaeusler, of the capitial city of Phnom Penh exhorted all the students to try hard to study and read more books. He called on them to especially strenghten themselves in foreign languages and computer knowledge because in the future, Cambodia will integrate with Asean (Association of South East Nations).

On February 11th three women novices made their vow of chastity in front of bishop Olivier SCHMITTHAEUSLER of Phnom Penh diocese. The three will now become members of the Prividence of Portieur Sisterss Congregation and will live in the service of God and the Church at the congregation’s house in Phnom Penh.
